FAQs

What skills do I need to be a successful Therapeutic Care Worker or Teaching Assistant?

At Hartmore Genesis we know that the skills needed for the job role can be taught, however it is the personal attributes that you can bring to the role that makes a successful Therapeutic Care Worker. Resilience, kindness, life experience and a sense of awareness are the personal traits that support working in a care environment, with several of our successful team members having started with ourselves with no previous care experience.

What development opportunities are there?

At Hartmore Genesis we understand that opportunity for career development is important, allowing individuals to thrive, increase their skill set and grow personally and professionally. Each individual will be offered in depth and ongoing training from their point of induction, in addition to the opportunity to complete nationally recognised qualifications and full degrees where appropriate. Opportunities are regularly available to all individuals, with many of our team members starting their journey in one sector of the industry, before progressing in an alternative area under the Hartmore Genesis family.

What if I do not meet all the role role criteria?

We recommend that you should apply, even if you feel that there is something missing from your application. If relevant we could suggest an alternative job role that is suitable and with your permission, we can save your details for future opportunities.

What happens during the interview?

Interviews will normally take up to 60 minutes. We will introduce ourselves and ask you questions about your experience and career aspirations, as well as discussing interview information that will be provided to you prior to your interview date. Our priority is to get to know you and learn about your key skills. We will also ensure that you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the job role.

How long will you have to wait to hear from us?

We shortlist applications daily and normally we will respond very quickly. If we receive a high volume of applications, we aim to get back to your application within seven working days. Interview outcomes and feedback can take up to one week. We will always keep you up to date and can be contacted every step of the way.

What do Therapeutic Care Workers shift patterns look like?

At Hartmore Genesis we provide our Therapeutic Care Workers with a fixed rota that is, at a minimum, six weeks in advance. We will discuss and detail the shift pattern of the job role of which you have applied during your interview process, and although shift patterns at set we welcome each team to support one another through occasional shift swaps when necessary.
